MATERIALS:

• Hook: 3X Long shank, size #4 or #6
• Thread: #3/0, green or blue
• Tail: "We Tie It" dragonfly body
• Body: 7/8" foam extended bug body, yellow or white
• Wing case: Pearl crystal flash

TYING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Sharpen hook and wrap thread over shank of hook and tie on dragonfly tail.
2. Tie in bug body at pointed end in front of the tail.
3. Advance the thread to the middle of the hook shank and tie in a 3" clump of crystal flash using figure eight wraps to form the wings.
4. Tie down the front of the bug body about 1/8" from the end of the foam at the hook eye. You want to form a round end here to look like the eyes of a dragonfly.
5. Paint the eye section black and paint the rest of the fly green or blue. Put a couple of black strips on the wings. You can use a needle to put legs in if you desire...I don't. After painting the eyes, coat them with "Hard as Nails" nail polish to make them appear shiny.
