Power Pro Line (Guest Review)
Just when I least expected it, I received an email from a message board
friend boasting on this new fishing line that he knew I’d just fall in love
with. Like many of you already know, being closed minded never got you
anywhere in fishing. Soon, I ordered my first spool of Power Pro with very
little expectation, to say the least.
Once the Power Pro arrived, I spooled up 2 spinning and one bait-casting
outfits (along with spare spools of monofilament just in case!). I was
instructed to use a 3ft fluorocarbon leader with Power Pro, which I simply
didn’t like. At the tip from another board user, he instructed me to NOT use
any leader at all, just tie on direct and fish. I did both for many trips
on my local waters and found the leader to be an un-necessary evil.
Much to my surprise, the Power Pro line performed flawlessly every day. I
can’t describe just how much better “feel” you have verses a monofilament.
It’s like the difference between a local drive through burger and a
marinated, home-grilled ribeye steak!
I use a Carolina rig quite often with bait-casting equipment. If you really
want to feel the bottom terrain with a Carolina rig, Power Pro is by far the
best tool I have ever used. It’s like holding a depth finder in your hands.
The line sends every little under water feature right to your fingers. It’s
simply put… “The best Carolina rigging line you’ll ever use”.
The Power Pro has no stretch, will not cut rod guides, it’s super sensitive
and strong, has no memory, it’s limp and easy to work with right out of the
box, and it casts like a rocket ship on grease! If you like a “no-fuss”, day
after day, user-friendly, change once-a-year line, give Power Pro
(www.powerpro.com) a try. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
